Jarrod and Vicky are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Big smiles, hearts of gold and a passion for building homes that exceed expectations. Described as having a straight-up, no-nonsense approach, Jarrod, at the helm of Simplexity Builders, is one of those all-round good Kiwi guys who prides himself on his outstanding building expertise and his ability to build relationships that last.

The couple’s story begins on the West Coast, where the pair met while Jarrod was completing his apprenticeship as a builder. They moved to Sydney, where Jarrod’s passion for high-end residential builds began. After five years in a beach climate, the couple were offered the opportunity to work at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, where Jarrod ran the construction crew, and Vicky worked as a carpenter helper.

This leadership role was put to good use in the UK and Ireland, where the couple travelled next. Jarrod was part of a project management team working on commercial and residential builds, including a 502-apartment building at Canary Wharf in London.

After returning to New Zealand in 2010, Jarrod along with a business partner built a business that focused on earthquake rebuilds and surveying and Earthquake strengthening of large Commercial buildings. But his unwavering passion for building beautiful residential homes led to the creation of Simplexity Builders in 2017 focusing entirely on Residential. At this point, Vicky became a major part of the business and the focus is on making the journey for their clients a fun and memorable one. They aim to build homes that everyone can be proud of and that you can love for a lifetime.

Jarrod and his team expertly craft custom-built, bespoke and architecturally designed homes by taking their client’s vision and making it a reality. They are backed by a highly skilled and experienced team that they know and trust to provide the best possible workmanship.

Simplexity limits the number of projects it takes on each year. This means you get the best possible care and service. And it means you’ll be seeing Jarrod on-site on a regular basis to answer any questions and check on the quality job of his builders. You’ll also hear from Vicky, who is the office manager and the ‘behind the scenes’ of the business. She makes sure the other members of the team are doing well, so they can get on with the important job of building your dream home.

We take a genuine interest in each other and feel a sense of being closely integrated in all that we do. We help and support each other and enjoy hanging out with each other in our spare time. You’ll occasionally find us fishing in Kaikoura or mountain biking with our sons. Vicky might be playing hockey or off training for an adventure race, while Jarrod might be coaching the boys’ sports teams or having a beer with mates.
